"Pride and Prejudice" Satire

On page 32, Mr. Bennet says "if your daughter should have a dangerous fit of illness, if she should die, it would be a comfort to know that it was all in pursuit of Mr. Bingley, and under your orders." Mr. Bennet is ok with the fact that Jane would be sent on horseback when it was raining because she could possibly get sick and therefore stay a few days longer with Mr. Bingley. This is an example of satire because he "wants her to get sick" so she can stay longer but actually she could possibly die of an illness. Mr. Bennet is kind of saying this statement that is "overkill" because it makes it sound like it is a good thing but this situation could prove deadly.

Working On

"Their Eyes Were Watching God" Essay Advice/Things to Work On:
I need to work on the formatting of my essay by using MLA format. I need to work on careless errors for example spelling and making sure to include the page numbers. In one part of my essay, I made the transition from one topic to the next too fast. Other than these errors, my essay flowed smoothly and I had something to say that was beyond the ordinary.

Their Eyes Were Watching God

My first body paragraph is about Janie's idealized view of marriage; for example, I talk about the pear tree but then transition into my second body paragraph which is about how Janie's view of marriage changes and the restraint that the males put on her. My third body paragraph is about how she experiences what it truly feels like to be free and the joy that she experiences.
